No matter the event, there is always a perfect table centerpiece for it. You just have to look and be inventive. For instance you may choose a centerpiece for a child’s party that has a clown on it. Most kids love clowns, and if you just happen to have booked a real live clown for the party, the child can keep the centerpiece as a memento of that particular party.
Another very apt centerpiece might be for a baby shower. A friend of mine bought about three yards of white felt, and a large box of medium sized safety pins and some plastic sticks. With those she made little tiny diapers clasped together with a safety pin in the appropriate place, and then glued the little diapers onto the ends of the sticks. When she had made them all, she stuck in some ferns she had in her garden, put them all in a nice vase and thus made the cutest bouquet to be used as the centerpiece of the gala event.
If you are Spanish, or even of Spanish descent, you may wish for your daughter to have a quinceanera. A quinceanera is when a girl reaches the age of 15, there is a huge celebration welcoming her into her womanhood. Usually there is a lot of glitter in the decorations, thus any glittery table centerpiece will definitely be festive and fitting.
Then, of course there are wedding showers. One can use a hula-hoop and cover it over with golden foil to make a large wedding ring centerpiece for that kind of party. There are a number of circular items available in craft stores that can make double rings intertwined if you so desire, and with two tea light candles in the center of each, you have a beautiful wedding centerpiece.
A mother wanted a centerpiece for her son’s 16th birthday party, but her son was more of the cerebral kind than a jock, so she was unsure as to what to use for a centerpiece that would not involve the typical “sports” centerpiece that usually is the norm for a 16 year old boy. She consulted me, and with a few questions, I ascertained that what the boy got the best kick out of was the fact that he was the president of his chess club, and chess was his life. Thus, she made a very large rook out of extra strong construction paper, then gilded it, and weighed it down, and it became the centerpiece for her son’s birthday. She even ordered a cake with chessmen upon it to go with her chess centerpiece.
